How to use Alt codes

Alt codes work on Windows with a numeric keypad: hold Alt, type the digits (keep the leading zero where shown), then release Alt. Codes that start with 0 use the Windows-1252 set; the short ones use the older code page 437. On laptops without a keypad, copying from this table is usually faster.

This table is a starting set and is being expanded. The codes shown are being double-checked before this page is published.
